Veteran's Day Festivities

We know, we know, it has been awhile since our last post. The Mother in this family was having a hard time uploading pictures again. When will she ever learn?

We woke up on Veteran's Day with a fantastic opportunity for the kids but they were a little skeptical of our idea.

We told them that we could drive to Usery Mountain Park and take a 1.5 mile hike that would teach us all about the importance of desert washes and their contributions to the environment. Needless to say, that idea didn't go over very well. But, that was our plan all along...

Instead of the nature hike, we went and trimmed the citrus trees at the house of our friend, Ruth.

Matt did most of the trimming while balancing on a ladder. What a guy!

Kaylee helped to load the branches into the truck and discovered that there were thorns. Ouch!

Richard had fun because he wasn't the one holding the gas hedge trimmer while balancing on a ladder.

Paige reminded us that she still has a sore knee from Halloween. I think she should definitely be an actress when she grows up.

Sarah's favorite part of the morning was throwing grapefruit at Paige who was standing in the bed of the truck and trying not to get hit. As the smiles show, a good time was had by all. In the afternoon we met up with Grandpa Bill and went to see Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. Could a day off from work and school really be any better than that?

I think you all should go into acting! You would be famous for sure!
