You Might Be A Redneck If...

This week, I took Paige and Kaylee to my sister, Sharon's house to swim.

While we were swimming, she showed me this cat claw vine that had grown over her wall and gotten out of control. She said, "I sure wish I could cut this vine down and let it grow up again and keep it thinned out." I said, "Not a problem, I can cut it down with our gas powered hedge trimmer." She said, "The next time you come over if could bring it that would be great." I said, "I have it in the trunk of my car right now."

We got the trimmer and had the cat claw vine cut off of the wall in 45 minutes and had a great time doing it. We decided that you might be a redneck if... you carry a gas powered hedge trimmer in the trunk of your car. :) I may not be able to claim that I am a hillbilly, but I sure do love gas powered equipment.

The month of May really seemed to be a busy one in our family. It seemed like we had way more things to do than we could possibly pack into 31 days, but somehow we managed to do everything! Paige turned 13 in the month of May and had a really fun party with some of her friends.

I flew to Utah 2 days before Paige's birthday and so Allie substituted as the Cluff Mom and hosted the birthday bash. Thanks, Allie, it wouldn't have been possible without you! Paige was secretly delighted because Allie is way cooler than me.

Here is Paige and some of her friends. They ate nachos and birthday cake, played games and ate candy. What more could you want at a birthday party? Happy birthday, Paige! We love you!

The Cluff family service project for the month of May was going to the Bishop's Storehouse and filling all of the orders that get put on a truck and driven to Payson. We left our house at 6:30 a.m. on Memorial Day so that we could be at the storehouse by 7 a.m. to start work. The girls filled the orders in shopping carts and Richard, Matt and I boxed everything up so it could get loaded on the delivery truck. How come every time we try to give service we end up having

so much fun?

After we finished working at the Bishop's Storehouse we went to see Kung Fu Panda 2. Matt really should get royalties from these movies because we are convinced that these movies are based on his life story. :) (All except for the adopted part.)

Kaylee finished up her baseball season in the month of May and is eagerly awaiting the beginning of volleyball season. Paige is excited too because she will also be playing volleyball.

Meagan and Hyrum welcomed their son, Brigham, into the world on May 10, 2011. He weighed 5 pounds and 10 ouonces. That is not Brigham in the backpack, it is a monkey that Allie bought them. Brigham didn't get to come home from the hospital right away and Hyrum was eager to use the baby backpack so they practiced with the monkey. I hope Brigham likes riding around in the backpack as much as the monkey did!

Brigham was not a happy camper in this picture because he had to wear a mask over his eyes and be under bright lights because he had jaundice. He had lots of tubes, but overall he is a pretty patient and laid back kid. He rarely complained about all of the procedures that had to be done to him. He was able to come home from the hospital on May 22. Hooray!

This is what he looked like last time I saw him. He was finally able to wear clothes and many of his tubes had been removed. Being a Grandma is everything everyone told me it would be. I was able to be in Utah for 6 days with Meg and Hyrum and I got to go to the hospital everyday and see Brigham while I was there. Brigham will be given a name and a blessing in July and Paige and Kaylee can hardly wait to go to Utah and see their nephew.

Here I am with some of the other members of the PTO committee, selling donuts. We sold 60 dozen donuts in less than 2 hours.

Here is Kaylee getting awards at the end of the school year for excelling in math and for being one of the top two students in her class academically. Way to go, Kaylee!

Yeah, Matt! Now that he is graduated he is working and saving for his mission and planning on taking a college class during the summer and then a full schedule in the fall before he leaves on his mission. We are so excited for Matt to be able to serve a mission and we can't wait to see where he will be called to serve.

Paige, Kaylee and Sarah decided to paint flower pots and plant some seeds. They had so much fun and this is what they looked like when they were finished...

We had lots of fun in May and are excited to have even more fun this summer.
