Happy Birthday Matt!

Happy 17th Birthday, Matt! Matt got a ticket to go and see Phantom of the Opera next weekend. He is looking forward to it. In the Cluff family there are those that have culture and then there are those that just don't appreciate it. Matt appreciates culture and should have lots of fun at this play.

We started off the day by heading to Denny's for a FREE birthday breakfast.

Then we stopped by Krispy Kreme for a FREE dozen birthday donuts. Yum!

Here are 17 things about Matt that we are happy to share:

1. He might look like a giant but what is really big about Matt is his heart. He

really is so kind and caring. Matt's chicken, Kevin, is so lucky to have him

for an owner because Matt is really good to him, even when he does bad

things like peck the garden plants.

2. Matt is not afraid to be seen with 5 Sisters. Being the only brother and

having to wait on all of us girls has got to be a pain but he loves us.

3. Matt does have his limits, but for the most part he is pretty indulgent with

all of our picture taking silliness.

4. Matt plays a pretty mean round of goofy golf.

5. Matt loves his Dad and enjoys spending time with him. (Even if he is the

Bishop.)

6. Matt treats me really well and can be seen folding clothes even when it is not

his day to do it because he is showing his love for me. He even lets me hug

him in public.

7. Now that Matt is 17 he will start attending missionary prep class every

Sunday evening. We are so proud of him and excited for him to serve a

mission.

8. Matt knows the scriptures really well and we love it when he shares his

knowledge with us in F.H.E. and tells us about things he has learned in

seminary.

9. Matt's favorite junk foods are circus animal cookies (you know, the ones that

are frosted with sprinkles), powdered donuts, anything with hot sauce (he

gets that from his Dad), Spicy Doritos and Butterfingers.

1o. He is a very talented sand castle builder.

11. Matt is tons of fun to be with.

12. Matt has a talent for remembering movie quotes. It is almost guaranteed

that if you get into a movie quote competition with him you will lose.

13. Matt will go to great lengths to create an original costume. Here he is in

2008 dressed as the mysterious Wesley from the Princess Bride.

14. This is another one of Matt's jack-o-lantern creations. He doesn't even use

the papers that have designs already on them so that you can tape it to the

pumpkin as you carve. He is pretty much a jack-o-lantern genius.

15. Matt is an Eagle Scout and really enjoys going on camp outs. We think he is

brave because he is willing to do weird things like eat squirrel.

16. We are happy to state that Matt is our favorite brother and our favorite

son.

17. Matt is really good at playing the piano. He can learn almost any song and

he keeps us all entertained. In this picture Kaylee is holding the phone so

that Matt and Paige can play their latest duet for Meg who is listening in

Utah.

In case you haven't guessed, we LOVE Matt and we are so glad that he is in our family. We don't know what we would do without him. Happy Birthday Matt!
